About the Founder

Marolin Jimenez is a Bronx-native creative director, educator, and community builder whose lifelong passion for art became the foundation of The Art Escape. Growing up in a large Dominican family, creativity was her outlet, her comfort, and her way of understanding the world. That passion carried her through life’s biggest moments from becoming a mother to opening her first storefront and ultimately inspired her mission to make art accessible to every person who walks through her doors.

Marolin founded The Art Escape as more than a studio. She envisioned a sanctuary, a place where people of all ages could breathe, create, laugh, reconnect, and feel seen. A space for healing, for expression, and for escape. What started as a dream during her time as a full-time student, new mom, and small-business owner quickly grew into a community hub offering workshops, events, celebrations, and creative experiences that bring people together.

With a background in communication design, early childhood education, and fine art Marolin blends storytelling, culture, and creativity into everything she builds. She believes that everyone is the protagonist of their own story, and her work focuses on giving people the tools, space, and inspiration to express that story through art.

Today, The Art Escape stands as a reflection of her journey resilient, vibrant, inclusive, and rooted in love. Marolin continues to lead with heart, using her creativity to uplift her community and create meaningful experiences that last far beyond the canvas.
